Dynasty Rockers • Est. 1973

With The Brooklyn Rock Dance back on the scene and making it's presence be further known within the Hip Hop and Funk dance culture. Dynasty Rockers and other United Brooklyn Uprockers revive the essence of the original dance style. Rock, Burning or Freestyle, as it was known, was created in the Bushwick area of Brooklyn in the late 1960's. The dance reached it's peak in popularity through the 1970's. Many Crews were created during this time and many Battles took place. The dance progressed and went through a name-change. The Rock Dance became Uprock. Uprock became dormant by the mid 80's but it's influence was noticeable in the Bboy culture as a modified form known as Top Rock. Top Rock is not the original Brooklyn Uprock style, however, it has been taught all around the world as such - this has lead a mass confusion about what Uprock really is. Burn 7DS and Numbers - two Bboys heavily involved in the Hip Hop scene, started a search for original Brooklyn Uprockers in the early 1990's. They united with legendary dancers such as King Uprock, Danny Boy, Lil Dave, Clarkie, Mr. Loose and many other original Uprockers who weren't in the spotlight at that time.
